JEANNETTE KAWERA also known as KAJETTE is a Rwandan Professional and Passionate Journalist, Writer and Content Creator who on a special note in 2024 was invited to go to Baku, Azerbaijan for the COP29 organised by UNFCCC and reported about COP29 on various media platforms while there. She went to Europe, in The Netherland and got certified by RNW in Media Training for Advocacy and Social Change Campaign in the Netherlands and is now an RNTC Alumni. She acquired some Reuters Training Courses on Digital Journalism, she was also trained by the US Agency for Global Media/The United States Broadcasting Board of Governors and is a certified Environmental and Climate Change Journalist. Kawera has been to different training offered by FEMNET in Kenya and Tanzania for Excellent Journalists aiming to boost their skills. She went to Nairobi Summer School on climate Justice and expressed her extraordinarily skills in journalism and reporting on environment and climate crises. She later went Kenya for a Some Fine Day Pix workshop on Journalism Film Reviews as an Entertainment Journalist. She graduated from YALA Women International Journalism Academy and has worked for several big Media Houses including InyaRwanda Ltd. and she has currently been working with The NewTimes Publication, Rwanda as a Journalist/Reporter.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Journalism, Media and Communications, and she holds a First Class Honors’ Degree in Bachelors of Arts in Mass Media and Communications from Mount Kenya University. She also majored in Hospitality Management and Leadership at Akilah Institute for Women. Kawera wrote for Dedza Films, a boutique film distributor and hybrid consulting agency dedicated to bringing nuanced films by underrepresented filmmakers to new audiences, as well as the likes of Akilah Stars Magazine amongst other international ones.

She won twice as the Female Entertainment Journalist of the Year 2022 Awards from Karisimbi Events and holds two Special Recognition Awards: The 2021 Humanitarian Award Winner in the Consumers Choice Awards due to her 'Fight Against Period Poverty Campaign' and the 2022 Excellence Service Award from B4B. Kawera is more of a Social Media Manager and Content Creator, she also works as The Communications Officer at Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network (RCCDN) and SURF/FR. She is passionate about Event Planning as well as helping in the organization and implementation of various social activities. She worked with RSW Australia-based Ministries in organizing and implementing the Gospel Talent Hunt Competition. Jeannette Kawera always fights for better changes in the community she belongs to, especially for women's empowerment.
