The Reason I edit Wikipedia?

I edit Wikipedia to address the glaring underrepresentation of African women biographical articles on English Wikipedia. From 2022 to 2024, there has only been a 26% increase in the number of biographies about women from sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, my editing efforts extend to enhancing articles about Nigerians and Africans in general.

Who am I

I am a recent graduate of Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. My passion for widening my knowledge base through extensive reading drives me, as I firmly believe that 'information is power' this fuels my desire to assist others in making sense of complex information. Writing is not just a skill but an adventure that I thoroughly enjoy.

My journey with Wikipedia began during my second year in the university when I attended an event and connected with the then-president of the University of Ilorin Wikimedia Fan Club. Intrigued, I joined the community and embarked on learning the intricacies of editing Wikipedia articles and contributing to the Wikimedia ecosystem.
