New real time list of missing articles[hindura inkomoko]

I suggest that you give a look to the Mix'n'match tool by Magnus Manske, and that you recommend it from this page. Thanks to Wikidata, it's able to tell you in real time what articles you're missing out of several reliable lists of relevant persons. --Nemo 17:06, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

This is a fine suggestion. In terms of priorities for the target readership of RW WP, active editors are presently (July 2020) focusing on identifying core topics that are not necessarily biography pages. I've started a manual review in Wikidata (described below) and will gladly consult more experienced Wikimedians for advice on how this might be automated in any way. -- Deborahjay (talk) 13:41, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Guiding content development[hindura inkomoko]

This page has been in place since December 2012. It's apparently based on the English Wikipedia's w:Wikipedia:Vital articles. To view existing pages already created in the RW WP, I checked some manually via Wikidata. (Possible automating the search is discussed in the comment section above.) In the Science/Biology list there are 11 existing pages among 47 listed. Because the suggested "vitals list" has a largely Western academic slant, I suggest skipping the biographies and prioritizing topics most relevant to Kinyarwanda speakers, the readers of this WP. Suggested are the sciences (life, social, technology) and Rwandan biographies (with citations of sources). Another option is to use what in English WP is the "Level 2" list, the "Vital 100." Here you can see how the Yoruba WP is using it. Meanwhile, I posted a query asking advice from Wikimedians on Meta-Wiki. -- Deborahjay (talk) 14:38, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

N.B. Articles that exist in RW WP but aren't linked to related Wikidata items, will require detection by Kinyarwanda speakers taking part in the investigation. -- Deborahjay (talk) 19:34, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
