Lorraine Mercer MBE ni Umwongereza wabashije kurokoka ingaruka za thalidomide, akaba umushushanyi, umudozi w’imipira y’imisumari n’umushoferi w’imodoka z’abafite ubumuga muri RDA .
Mercer yari uhagarariye umuryango mpuzamahanga w’abarokotse ingaruka za thalidomide ubwo yagendaga afata Itara rya Olympic mu mwaka wa 2012 ku bw’igihugu cye.[1][2] Imodoka ye yateguwe ku buryo yatwaraga Itara rya Olympic neza hejuru y’umutwe we, itajya hafi y’umwuka wa ogisijeni akeneye.
Mu mwaka wa 2015, Mercer yahawe icyubahiro MBE kubera serivisi ze mu muryango, by’umwihariko ku bantu bonyine bo mu bitaro by’aho atuye muri Mid-Sussex.[2][3]
