The Virunga National Park (formerly Albert National Park) lies from the Virunga Mountains, to the Rwenzori Mountains, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, bordering Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Rwenzori Mountains National Park in Uganda.

Het Virunga nationaal park (vroeger het Albert Nationaal Park) strekt zich over een gebied van 7800 vierkant kilometer uit van het Virungagebergte tot het Rwenzorigebrergte. Het grenst aan het Edwardmeer en is bekend voor zijn nijlpaarden. In ander gebieden vindt men moerassen en vlakten.
