English: Goma, North-Kivu, DRC – On 14 October 2021, MONUSCO facilitated the airlift of a batch of scientific equipment, between Kinshasa and Goma, donated by the US Geological Survey department to Goma Volcanological Observatory (OVG). The equipment will help OVG improve its monitoring and understanding of the active volcanoes (Nyamulagira and Nyiragongo) located in the Virunga National Park, for a better disaster prevention.
